About Candy
Candy has been treating patients since 1989, qualifying in 1990 and has been based in Truro since 1995. Her emphasis is on keeping people well and living life to the full, for everyone from 9 to 90. She has experience of working with men and women: sports injuries and fertility issues; arthritic pain and bed wetting; maintenance of good health and fighting off coughs and colds.
Candy has been interested in complementary medicine, and acupuncture in particular, since her early twenties when treatment ended 7 years of chronic rhinitis! Having studied massage, acupressure, zero balancing and having worked as a counsellor in a busy GP's practice, Candy brings a range of skills and experience to her treatments.
Candy practiced in Oxford, alongside Peter Mole and Ken Shrifrin, before returning to her native Cornwall. Brought up in the Scillies where her father's family can trace their roots back hundreds of years, Candy now lives and works in Truro.
Candy is a member of the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC), and observes their Code of Safe Practice, which lays down stringent standards of hygiene and requires the use of sterile disposable needles.

Special Interests:
Whilst treating a wide range of patients and conditions, Candy has a special interest in women's health. She also treats both children and young adults for a number of complaints. The long term maintenance of good health is also a key aspect of Candy's work. Many patients who find acupuncture beneficial for the treatment of a specific problem go on to find acupuncture helpful with other problems, later in life. Her background in 5 Element Acupuncture encourages a seasonal approach to staying well and many patients come at change of season.
